An Apostille from the Secretary of State authenticates a document for use in a foreign Country. The Secretary of State will verify the authenticity of the signature of the public official, the capacity in which the public official acted and, if applicable, the authenticity of the seal or stamp on the document. The Secretary of State can only authenticate the signature on documents issued in their State and signed by one of their Public Officials including:
Notary Publics
County Clerks and their deputies,
County Recorders and their deputies, and
the State Registrar

Fees: $175 for the 1st document, including government fees. $125 for second document and $100 for each additional thereafter for services in California.

Apostille Services

Documents should be completed, but NOT signed before the notary arrives. All signatories MUST be present with a Valid Government Issued Photo ID (cannot be expired).

A Notary Public verifies only the identity of the individual(s) who signed the document and not the truthfulness, accuracy or validity of that document.

All questions or concerns regarding the document should be directed to the requesting agency before the notary arrives.

Applicant fingerprinting for employment, licensing, certifications, foreign adoptions or VISA/ Immigration purposes. Livescan digitally transmits your fingerprints to the California State Department of Justice.

Complete Your Appointment
In order to complete your appointment, you will need: 
^Completed Request for Live Scan Service Form (with ORI Code)
^A valid government issued photo identification, such as a California Driver's License, California Identification Card, Passport, out of state Driver Licenses, military ID cards and IDs from the Mexican Consulate, which CANNOT be expired.
^Payment Cash, Credit Card, and Check (make checks payable to A SafeScan)

Your applicant agency should provide you with a BCIA 8016, Request For Live Scan Service form. Once you have the form, make sure your applicant agency has provided you with an ORI code. We cannot complete the fingerprint process unless you have an ORI code. Fill in the rest of the information.

FEE
Price is determined by the level of service for background check. Applicant is responsible for $25.37 rolling fee for the Live Scan service, plus any *government fees that may apply to application, and travel/setup will be applied and varies depending on location of services.

*FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) charge: $17.00

*The Government Fee is determined by the level of service required by the Requesting Agency and are subject to change without notice.

Sometimes employers choose to have the Department of Justice bill them at the end of the month. If your employer has chosen, this method of payment there will be a BILLING NUMBER on your LIVESCAN request form. If this field has been completed, you will only be charged the fees indicated by the Livescan machine in addition to the $38.37 rolling fee plus travel/setup will be applied and varies depending on location of services.

Notarization fees are regulated by the Secretary of State's office and are set at $15.00 per notarized signature. Accommodation fee applied to all Notary Services and varies depending on location.
